Available Sizes & Coverage

Size Coverage Area Best For
Quart Up to 70 sq. ft. Large pieces like armoires, dressers, dining tables
Pint Up to 35 sq. ft. Chairs, side tables, nightstands
8 oz. Up to 17 sq. ft. Small décor pieces, stools, trays

Paint is mixed at a 1:1 ratio (one part powder to one part warm water). Coverage varies slightly based on surface texture and dilution.

How to Mix

  1. Mix equal parts milk paint powder and warm water in a clean container.

  2. Stir thoroughly for several minutes until smooth.

  3. Let sit for 10–15 minutes, then stir again. Consistency will be similar to heavy cream (thinner than enamel paint).

  4. Adjust consistency, as needed:
    • Thicker = opaque paint or for a textured finish

    • Thinner = stain or wash - great for whitewashing

Mixed paint lasts 2-3 days when sealed and refrigerated. Mix only what you need; store the rest as dry powder.

Painting Tips

  • Paint adheres well to raw wood, plaster, metal, terra cotta, and more.

  • Paint will not adhere well to glossy surfaces.

  • Primer is not recommended.

  • Sand lightly between coats.

  • Use with wet or dry brush.
  • Add more water as paint thickens.

Hoping for an aged, old-world vibe? Layer multiple paint colors and experiment with distressing and "chipping" areas that would normally age. Milk paint is artistic and creativity is encouraged!

Want that charming "chippy" look? Use the paint without bond to encourage natural, vintage-style cracking and peeling, especially on glossy surfaces. Milk paint is designed to give an imperfect, time-worn look that is filled with character.

Prefer a more opaque finish? Add a little Junkyard Goddess Magic Bond to your mixed paint. It helps the paint grip slick or sealed surfaces and mimics the feel of chalk paint—great for modern, minimal, or clean looks.

Create cottage, farmhouse, shabby-chic, boho, or antique looks with ease.  No pro experience required. Creativity is recommended!

Protecting Your Paint

After your paint has dried, seal and protect it naturally:

  • 🌿 Junkyard Goddess Hemp Oil – Enhances color depth, seals and protects, creating a soft, matte finish

  • Junkyard Goddess Hemp Wax – Aromatherapeutic finishing and polishing wax conditions, restores and protects, naturally

Both sealants are non-toxic, free of harmful chemicals and safe for everyday use.

Safe Ingredients

  • Non-toxic paint base

  • Zero VOCs, phthalates, or preservatives

  • No ammonia, no synthetics, no odor
